WOOD – ALUMINUM WINDOW, DOOR AND SLIDING SYSTEMS

Complanare

Rigorous design with coplanar geometry…

Complanare is severe and linear in design: the external aluminium profiles of the frame are flush with the sash. This system allows the range of application of wood/aluminium to be extended to residential and business environments which tend to have flat doors and windows lying flush with the building’s facade. The flat surfaces of the frames allow perfect blending of all the elements.

Surface and Colour Options

Pine is a highly suitable wood for manufacturing window and door systems due to its high thermal insulation values and durability. Pine profiles, separated from their knots, are reassembled using the finger-joint method and laminated into triple layers. The surfaces are coated with an ICONA surface coating that matches your design. ICONA is a special coating that has been impregnated and processed with specific chemicals. It is a formaldehyde-free coating made of pure cellulose and features a synchronized pore coated. ICONA stands out with its color stability even when exposed to light and offers high resistance against wear, scratches, stains, and heat. It does not require any special maintenance and can be cleaned with ordinary household cleaners used in daily life.

Uni_One wood / aluminum window systems offer some outstanding features specialized from its competitors. These features provide to mainmtain windows for many years and your system maintenance / settings without requiring you to use while provide both aesthetic appearance.

Welded External Aluminium Cladding

External aluminium cladding avoids the need for maintenance and optimizes water tightness and airtightness, giving the designer the option of solutions with new forms and colours. The aluminum frames are produced with the technology of welding the corners to guarantee maximum strength and quality.

Painting is performed after welding, and ensures corners with perfect sealing, completely protected by the paint and featuring improved appearance of the finished product. This process ensures a flawless appearance in the finished frame, which remains intact for years. When mechanical joining methods (such as pressing or screw hinges) are preferred, tiny paint cracks due to cutting at the corners and abrasion caused by mechanical contact can lead to oxidation on the aluminum surface over time, resulting in paint deterioration and staining.

Structural Silicone Between the Glass and Wood (Bonding)

Structural silicone used at all Uni_One systems enables the wood and glass to act as a whole structure and in particular gives superior properties to window on the water and sound insulation. The structural capacity of the glass panels also eliminates the sagging problems of the sashes.

Corner Joints

The laminated wood profiles are joined at 45° by means of plugs and dovetail elements. When joining the wings, a patented accessory in ABS in various finishes to make the corner watertight, rounds out the external edge to ensure accident protection and enhances the finish of the frame to blend in with the selected handle.

Joining wood and aluminium with plastic clips

In all Uni_One systems, wood and aluminum profiles are secured to each other using plastic clips without direct contact. This method provides significant advantages in the long term compared to the practice of creating channels to pass wood and aluminum through each other in similar systems. Wood and aluminum are materials that behave differently in terms of temperature variations between day and night, and seasons. If they are joined together without the ability to move independently, cracks and gaps in the corners become inevitable over time. This not only leads to visual issues but also structural problems such as compromised sound, thermal, and water insulation, shortening the window’s usable lifespan.

Plastic clipses are the worldwide solution of these problems and allow the expansion of the aluminium and wood independently. It also provides ventilation of the surface of the wood by holding the aluminium 5mm above that surface and eliminates the potential condensation problems. This condensation that may arise between two surfaces generally results in decay and mold of wood and precautions should be definitely taken against these problems.
